Inky Impressions Challenge #16

Happy Fall! You wouldn't know it was fall here though -- it's so humid and sticky. Phew it's hot and I'm having a bad hair day! :o( Anyways, to get me in the spirit of autumn, I made this fall card and imagining that it's a dry and cool day. I am entering this card at the Inky Impressions challenge blog. The challenge there is to create a card with 4 embellishments. Now I wasn't sure if I was supposed to use 4 embellishments in total or 4 different kinds of embellishments, so I went with 4 embellishments total. My 4 embellishments are the 3 buttons and 1 brad, here is my card:



What do you think? This is an image of Angelica. Isn't she a sweetie!? This image is so versatile and I have so many card ideas to use her for. Over at the Inky Impressions store they have many adorable images of Angelica and another little girl named Lili. Go check it out! For my card, I used the tree and log from the Magnolia-licious store and Angelica from Inky Impressions. My paper is from Stampin Up, DCWV, and Provo Craft. I used copics to color my image. Happy Saturday

Happy Saturday! Today is a beautiful day here in New England and before I go outside to enjoy the weather, I thought I'd post a few pictures. First, I wanted to share a picture of my girls. They started school this week. YEAH! Look at those happy faces, I hope they're still smiling in a month, LOL!!



They are great kids. My older daughter, Elena, has also started paper crafting and using my beloved stamps to make her own cards. Here are a few of the cards she made.



And this next card she made using my cricket machine.

This is my first stair-step card and I love how easy it is to create a scene using this card fold. The tree, fence, cats, ghosts, and haunted house I cut out with my cricket. And I had the Tilda with the broom and Edwin stamps that I stamped out and colored with my copics. The other Tilda was an image that my friend, Cabio, sent to me along with some super stickers that I also used on this card. The awesome paper I used is from K&Co.

Sugar Bowl Challenge #17

Today, I've made a card for the Sugar Bowl challenge using a Gorjuss girl stamp. I just love these images as they are so much fun to color. I bought my gorjuss stamp from Funky kits. Here is my card:



She is just the cutest! One condition for the challenge was to make your own flowers using punches or dies instead of pre-made flowers. I made mine with the Spellbinder dies and used some brads to hold them together. I really love these spacers that I found to help embellish the flowers.

Ok, now I need to go and "referee" the children. Sigh... when does school start?

Summer Tilda and Edwin

Happy Monday morning! Here is a card I made for the August mingle at the MAGNOLIA-LICIOUS group. I will be sending this to my mingle partner real soon - hope she likes it.

This group is so much fun and has so many talented people on it. I love visiting their blogs or albums to see what they've created and getting inspiration. I've learned so much from them since beginning this card making/scrapbooking journey in April 2009.

Most of my stamps come from Diana Crick's Magnolia-licious USA store. Besides my obsession with Magnolias, I've discovered COPIC markers which are awesome to work with and can also be found at the Magnolia-licious store. They make anyone look like an artist.

It's been a long time since I've posted here but I have been so busy this summer with my family that it leaves me little time for making cards but I try to keep up with reading everyone else's blog and practicing with my copics and card layouts. I've seen alot of improvement since my first attempts.

I did find time to create this following card for the Christmas challenge at the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog. I had so much fun making it. It's a pop-up Christmas card that I hope will keep inspiring me as I look at it in my craftroom.





I had the christmas tree stamp, the couch from Alota Rubberstamps, the fireplace also from Alota Rubberstamps, and the Magnolia images (Tilda and cats). I used 2 circle nestabilities for the wreath and cut out a circle. Then covered it with green flowersoft. I used Liquid pearls for the berries on the wreath then tied a bow with ribbon. I popped out the tree and Tilda. I had to make the tree a bit bigger because it wasn't in proportion to Tilda. So I stamped the tree 2 times and attached extra branches to the other tree. I wanted the card to look like a living room so I used paper that looked similar to wallpaper. For the carpeted floor I just cut out a circle to look like an area rug for the middle of the room. I did it! I created my own blog. Maybe someone other than myself and my kids will read it. LOL!

Well, here is the first challenge I am entering. It's the May challenge on the Magnolia-licious board. The challenge was to make a butterfly out of a Tilda (Magnolia) stamp. Below is my entry:

I used a Tilda stamp from the Pink collection and an Inkadinkadoo butterfly stamp I bought at Michaels. I used Martha Stewart glitter for the wings and I colored the image with copic markers. Thanks for visiting my blog!
