Crazy 4 Challenges #56

Our challenge this week at Crazy 4 Challenges is to use bling on your card. So here is what I made:

I made a shadow box that I can hang on my wall during Christmas. I picked up the shadow box at my local Michaels Arts & Crafts store and painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint and went over it lightly with distress ink. Then I painted the back of the box with an outdoor scene and embellished with some Magnolia images that I got from the Magnolia-licious store. I used 3 images from Magnolia and they are: Winter Forest pine trees, the house background and Santa stamps are also by Magnolia but I couldn't find them to link too but HERE is a very similar background image and HERE is a similar Santa. I'm sure these images will be in stock soon at Magnolia-licious.

I hope you can see my picture ok. It was hard to photograph it with enough light. My bling is the pearls I used as "snow" and the clear rhinestones that I used on my Stickled wooden snowflakes.

If you would like to play along with us at C4C, all you have to do is create a card/project, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C56 then link it at the C4C challenge blog.

I will enter this project at the following challenges:

All That Scraps Magnolia Challenge - Christmas
Winter Wonderland - holly, red and green
A Spoonful of Sugar - anything goes
Christmas Stampin All Year Long - inspiration challenge

Thanks for visiting me today! Have a great weekend!

Paper Romance #15 - CAS

Our challenge today at Paper Romance is brought to you by Lori Aragon and she challenged us to a CAS (clean and simple) card.  Here's what I came up with:

When I first saw this cute fellow, that song by Dean Martin popped into my head "That's Amore." So that's where my sentiment came from - I just created it in Word and added a music note. Hehehe doesn't he put a smile on your face? Love him!  I used Papertrey Ink paper and Basic Grey paper - love that Max & Whiskers paper pad (my favorite).

Here's a closeup:

Paper Romance #14

** Please scroll down for the Whimsy blog hop **

Good morning! My house has been super quiet this week without the kids. I can't believe summer vacation is over! Well, I should get alot of stamping done now that I have no one to entertain and I'm back to a routine. Sure do miss them though....

But I'm looking forward to the fun fall and winter cards that I can make now. Which is the inspiration behind today's project. I made a little purse that I thought could be used as little Halloween favors for the kids at school.

I used one of my favorite stamps from Paper Romance. This is Andrea's Kittens. I colored her in Halloween colors and gave her 3 black kittens. I also added a cute scaredy cat button. What do you think?

I used the following copic colors to color my image: C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00, YR18, YR16, YR12, YR02, V17, V15, V12, V000.

So today's challenge at Paper Romance, is to include a furry friend/animal to your card. I hope you can play along, you could be the winner of a $5.00 Gift Certificate to Paper Romance! Just link your card over at the challenge blog and if you're loading into an online Gallery, use the keyword prc14. Thanks for visiting me today! See you soon!
