Critter Sketch Challenge #16 - May Flower Basket

Good morning! Hope you all are enjoying the long weekend. Today I am marching in our local Memorial Day parade with my daughter who is in Brownies and it's supposed to be swelteringly hot today. UGH! Well, since today is Monday, I have a Critter Sketch challenge project to share with you. This week we have an inspiration and color challenge. The inspiration is to use flowers on your project and the color purple. So here is my project:

I made a small flower basket using a Bildmalarna image. Isn't she just too sweet? I picked up this stamp from Paper Jewels. She is called Mimosa on the Bench. My flowers are from Wild Orchids and I used the color purple on Mimosa's dress and the flowers that she is holding.

Here is a closeup:

Here is a side view:

Our sponsor for the whole month of May is Dustin Pike from Doodle Dragon Designs. He has some of the most cutest images out there. Follow the link and take a look at some of his designs.

I will enter this project at the following challenges:

Bildmalarna Challenge #10 - Father's Day (Who said you can't give a basket of flowers to your dad? Especially when he's got 2 daughters.) ;o)
Paper Cutz Challenge #43- gift for a teacher (this could be a gift for dad or a teacher.)
Paper Garden Projects - girly
Stampin' for the Weekend - Card/project to make someone smile or cheer them up.

Today will be my last post for Critter Sketch Challenges. With summer coming, I have decided to lighten my load for a few months. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this fun team. Thanks to Melanie for inviting me to be part of it. Well, thanks for visiting me today, have a great day!

Spunky Scooter Lili

Whew! It is HOT today! Summer weather has come in full force here where I live. Wish I had that pool open. Hope you all are in your craft rooms and staying cooool :o)...

Anyways, here is a card I want to show you that I made for Inky Impressions. This is Spunky Scooter Lili. How adorable is she!? I saw this background made by Alota Rubberstamps that I picked up from the Magnolia store and knew this image would be a nice background for my Scooter Lili. I think the background image is actually supposed to be a winter type of scene so I added some flowersoft to the leafless trees. I think it turned out ok. What do you think?

I'm following Mercy's Sketch this week (love her sketches). Here is a closeup picture:

Recipe: Basic Grey, Magnolia, and DCWV papers, Inky Impression stamps, Alota Rubberstamps stamp, ribbon and wooden heart button from my stash, flower soft, and spellbinder die.

Inky Impressions Challenge #35 - Fun in the Sun

Good morning! Today is Wednesday and that means it's time for another Inky Impressions Challenge. For this week's challenge the DT had to choose two things from the word FLOWERS to add to our creations...

F - Faux stitching or Flowers
L - Lace
O - Circles, brads, or pearls
W - Watercoloring
E - Embossing
R - Ripping, Distressing, or Tearing
S - Sparkle

Here is my card:

I used this new image from Inky Impressions called Beach Bound Lili. Doesn't she look adorable all ready for the beach? I also managed to squeeze Water Lili in there. So, the 2 letters I chose and used on my card are: O for circles (pearls) and R for ripping/tearing (tore my "sand" and sentiment paper). There's even a bit of S in there for sparkle (on the Lili's) and R for ribbon.

Some more views of my stair step card:

I cut the palm trees out with my Cricut, Life's a Beach cartridge, used sandpaper as my "sand," and used some small shells for embellishing.

I will enter this card at the following challenges:

A Spoon Full of Sugar - cute & girly
One Stop Craft Challenge - summer breeze
For Fun Challenge - stair step card

Well, thanks for visiting me today. Hope you will play along with us at Inky Impressions. You have two weeks to play along with us so plenty of time for you to create something. Join us won't you? :o) hugs,
