TOMIC #52 - Summer Holiday Challenge + Sketch

Hi Everyone! Hope you are all doing well today?  It's time for another TOMIC Challenge and this week our challenge is to make a summer holiday card and also follow this sketch:

Here is the card I made for the 4rth of July:

I've used a combination of papers by Bo Bunny and Websters Pages.  The images I used are: Tilda Off Shore, Memory Shells, and the Ocean Background is from the Lazy Summer Days collection but could not find a link to it.   I've used some shells for embellishing and all my images were colored with copics: E11, E02, E01, E00, E000, R20, R22, R24, R27, E55, E53, E51, E50, YR00, YR000, B97, B95, B91, B000, B0000, C7, C5, C3, C1, C00, E35, E33, E31, E30, Y15, Y000.

Well, this will be my last post for TOMIC for awhile. It's been a pleasure working with these awesome designers on the challenge blog.  I have decided to step down for a bit to get some things under control here before summer. I hope to rejoin in the future. Thanks for visiting everyone! Have a great day!

TOMIC Challenge - Animal + sketch

I love flamingos! If I could keep one for a pet, I would. But I don't live on the beach (where flamingos live apparently) and probably never will until my kids are out of college.  Last year,  I bought some of those wire flamingos and stuck them outside in my landscape.  Hubby didn't like that much, so he took them down and made me return them.  Now I am banished from decorating the outdoors.  Boo! :p :p :p

So I made a card with a Magnolia flamingo. Woohoo!!  Here is the sketch we had to follow:

And my card:

Oh don't you love this guy!  So CUTE!! I was so happy to see Magnolia come out with this stamp.  Perfect for our TOMIC challenge which is to make a card with an animal on it and also to follow the above sketch.  I also used Magnolia's beach/sailboat scenery and new "have a sunny day" sentiment. My papers are by Bo Bunny - Barefoot and Bliss Collection.  Everything was colored with Copics, and they are: R24, R22, R20, E55, E53, E51, E50,  C1, C00, YR000, W1, W00, Y15, Y13, Y11, Y000, B26, B24, B21, B000.

That's it for today. Have a great day guys! xx

Somebunny Loves You

Hi Everyone! Today at TOMIC we have a new challenge for you.  We have a sketch for you to follow and also there must be a bunny included somewhere on your card.  Here is the sketch:

Here is my card.  I used Tilda and her Bunny from the Butterfly Dreams Collection. I also used Magnolia papers on this card, Doohickey and spellbinder dies, and some flowers.

I tried creating a wildflower background around Tilda with copics.  I love the way Chris Dark creates such beautiful backgrounds for her images and here is my small attempt LOL! But I'm happy with the way it turned out.  Here is a close up:

Hmm.... I think I could have blended her face out a bit better. But I didn't want to over saturate the paper with my markers.

Well that's it from me today.  I hope you'll play along with us at TOMIC and try for your chance for an awesome prize from Magnolia.  Have a great day!

TOMIC - Bottle Decoration

Oooo I really struggled with this next challenge at TOMIC. We were challenged to make a bottle decoration.  I just couldn't think which Magnolia would be appropriate for this task so I made a tag and used this adorable Tilda from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection, this is Tilda with Peony Tails.

Here's a closeup of the tag:

We also have to add at least 2 butterflies to our creation for this challenge. I added 3 butterflies punched out with my Martha Stewart paper punch.  I used 2 spellbinder dies combined to create this tag. Then I embossed the top part of the tag with a Craft Concepts  Diamond Shadows embossing folder that I picked up at SCACD .  Also used Kraft paper cardstock and my yummy designer paper is called Kissing Booth from  Basic Grey and I picked up this paper pack from Little Darlings Rubberstamps store.  I added some WOC flowers, ribbon and lace trim that I got at Joanne Fabrics, and sweet heart die cut from Whimsy.

That's all for now folks! Thanks for taking a look at my bottle decoration today and I hope you will play along with our challenge at TOMIC! Have a great day!

TOMIC - Special Happy Birthday Tilda Challenge

Hi Everyone! Today I'm back with a Happy Birthday Tilda Challenge at TOMIC.  We must include a Birthday sentiment on our card and follow the following sketch:

It should also be a girly girl card or very femine.  So here is the card I came up with:

This lovely Tilda is called Tilda Loves Flowers from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection currently available at Magnolia-licious. Isn't she gorgeous, I colored her with copics and touches of prisma pencils.  I LOVE these new papers I got from SCACD. They scream spring to me and I just love these colors.  The papers are by Best Creations and are called A Walk in the Garden - just gorgeous with lovely colors and bits of sparkle throughout this 6x6 pad. I love it!  The birthday sentiment is from Whimsy - they have the best sentiments!

Well that's it from me today.  See you next time!

TOMIC #38 - Edwin's Birthday

Hi Everyone!  We have a special challenge for you today at TOMIC, our theme is Edwin's birthday and we have a sketch for you to follow. Here is the sketch:

You must use an Edwin stamp with this challenge. So here is my card using 2 of my favorite winter Edwins:

Close-up:

Today I used Edwin skiing and Edwin sledding (I'm not sure if these are their proper names) but I picked them up from Magnolia-licious. I also used a Magnolia Doohickey die (trees) and the pine tree border die is from Memory Box. My sentiments are from Whimsy.

I hope you liked my project today. Have a great day!

TOMIC - Challenge 27

Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend!? Christmas is in the air and today at TOMIC our challenge is to make a shaker card.  So I made a card in the shape of a snowglobe.

The top part is the shaker part of my card.   I wanted to create a nighttime scene so I could use my Santa and Reindeer sillouette against the moon. Can you see it? I used the polar white flowersoft as my snow so when you shake my card it looks like snow falling.

Details:

Papers: Magnolia
Stamps: Tilda with Cross Stitch Heart, Stone Wall, bird and moon also by Magnolia
Misc.: snowflake ribbon, spellbinder die, flowersoft, copics for coloring

I will enter this card at the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - anything goes with option of sparkle
The Ribbon Girl - Christmas project - jingle all the way
Totally Papercrafts Challenge - Let It Snow

Thanks for visiting me today! I hope you liked my card today and can let me know what you think. See you next time!

TOMIC - Challenge 22 - Create a Basket

It's time again for another challenge at TOMIC.  Our theme this week is to make a basket.  So I scoured the internet and came across several basket tutorials on Splitcoaststampers. In the gallery I saw the cutest picnic basket but there was no tutorial on how to make it.  I could have purchased a template for $6 or $7 if I wanted but decided to just try and make it on my own.  So here is how it turned out:

I cut several 1 inch strips of yellow paper. Then I brushed the edges with some dark brown ink so when I weaved the strips together there would be a little color dividing the strips. I have 5 rows vertically and 3 rows horizontally. I used a spellbinder die for the lid. I think it turned out really cute.  All I have to do is add a rectangular piece of cardboard or chipboard to the inside of the basket and then I can put some Christmas cookies or some muffins/quick breads and give it to someone as a small gift.

This cute Magnolia image is from the new Sweet Christmas Dreams collection and she is called Tilda With Candy Cone. I colored her with the following copic colors: E11, E00, E000, R27, R24, R22, R20, C9, C7, C5, C3, C1, E35, E33, E31, G21, G20, YR23, Y23, Y21, Y000. I used the poinsettia doohickey die from Magnolia and also some WOC flowers to help embellish this project.

I will enter my basket at the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - christmas
Christmas Inspirations - christmas and die cuts/ punches
The Ribbon Girl - jingle all the way to Christmas

Well that's it for now. Hope you liked my project today and can let me know what you think. Thanks for visiting!

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge - TOMIC 15

Our challenge today at TOMIC is coordinating with this month's issue of Magnolia Ink which has a chocolate theme.  So here is my creation for today:

I used that sweet cupcake template that Lillemor created and was in the Magnolia Ink chocolate issue. I love this little basket and it was so easy to make. Wouldn't it be cute for little party favors for your child's birthday?

This adorable Tilda is Oops Tilda from the "A Little Yummy For Your Tummy Collection."   I also used the butterfly and swirl doohickey dies from Magnolia to accent this project and my papers are digital papers from Nitwits. That fun pink fringe that I used to mimick frosting is from Love To Stamp - love that stuff!

I will enter this project at the following challenges:

Allsorts - flowers and swirls
Stamp Something - anything goes
Wags n Whiskers - anything but a card
Colour Create - pink, brown, cream, white

For my BLOG CANDY, please visit HERE.

If you haven't picked up this month's Magnolia Ink issue, you definately need to get this Chocolate issue - it is positively YUMMY! ;) Have a great week!

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge - TOMIC #7

Hello everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your summer? It's been fun having the kids home with me but I find myself with so little time to color while they are home. They are certainly keeping me busy with outings and playdates and some fun little projects. My oldest daughter, Elena, has got it in her head to redecorate her room. So, we've gone from purple peace signs to blue and white Nautical / beach themes (hmm.. I wonder if we'll be redecorating again for the winter).

So we've been scouring the shops for all things beachy and nautical.  Luckily we stopped in at our local Christmas Tree Store and wouldn't you know it, they had all things nautical and my daughter shopped till she dropped! ;)  We found this cute sailboat candle holder that she fell in love with.  When I saw it, the wheels in my head started turning and I remembered that our next theme at TOMIC is NAUTICAL and wouldn't it be fun to have Tilda and Edwin hanging off the side of the boat.  So instead of a card, this is what I made for this weeks TOMIC challenge:

Poor Edwin has gotten into a bit of trouble and there's hero Tilda saving him! LOL!  I cut out my letters with my Cricut machine with the Plaintin Schoolbook cartridge. I LUV MY CRICUT!

So the images I used today are:

Dangling Sea Edwin - Bon Voyage Collection
Tilda on Rope Ladder - Bon Voyage Collection
Sailor Tilda - Summer & Sea Collection

Unfortunately, these stamps don't seem to be available at the moment at Magnolia-licious but if you email Diana, I'm sure she can order them for you soon.

Copic colors used today are: C3, C1, C00, E11, E00, E000, R20, B97, B95, B91, B000, B0000, E35, E33, E31

Well, thanks for dropping by today! I hope you enjoyed my project for today and will visit again soon! Have a great day!

The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge - TOMIC #2

It's time for another challenge at TOMIC.  As I told you last time, the DT has been split up into several groups and I'm in Group 1, so I get to play today.  We have a color challenge for you this week and the colors are PINK, BROWN, and WHITE.  Here is my card:

My main colors are pink, brown, and white but I did add touches of other colors for visual interest. I love making these stair step cards. There's lots of room to add all kinds of details and dimension to your scenes.  I've been wanting to use these cute Magnolia elf images for a long time and I decided this was the time to use them even if it isn't Christmas.  They are meant to be Christmas elves but I changed them to be garden gnomes and paired them up with Make It Crafty's Mushroom house.  These 2 images are:   Sitting Alva and Alva With Flower from the Jingle Jangle Collection 2008.  I thought I had Alf also in my collection but  was mistaken -  he would have made a nice addition to this scene.  I also used Magnolia's Big Daisy (Jingle Jangle collection), Hugo the Snail (Sweet Rainbow collection),  Mushroom with Snail (Sweet Rainbow collection), and Small Snail (from Fairytale collection).  I wish I could tell you where my sentiment came from but I bought it last year at a local stamp show convention. Sorry!

I used several Doohickey dies on this card also. They are:  Heart Swirl, Leaf and Swirl die, and the Fence doohickey die.

I used the following copics to color this scene: R85, R83, R81, RV11, RV10, W3, W1, W00, C9, C3, C1, C00, E11, E02, E01, E00, E000, R20, E53, E51, E50, G99, YG97, YG95, YG93, G21, G20, E74, E71, E70, E35, YR23, Y23, Y21, Y000 - I think that's everything.

I will enter this stair step card at the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - sparkle (mushrooms have stickles on them)
Crafts and Me - stamp something
Magnolia Stamp Lovers - anything goes
