Friday Sketchers Challenge

Hello and thanks for visiting me today. I hope you had a wonderful holiday? Mine was great and over in a blink of an eye, wasn't it? Unfortunately, I had a stomach bug the day after Christmas but am much better now and ready to get back to making cards. Well, today I wanted to participate in the Friday Sketchers Challenge.

Here is the sketch we had to follow:

Hope you're not tired of Christmas cards yet but I had this one on my mind for awhile and wanted to make this card. I turned the sketch a bit and used this adorable image from Inky Impressions called Lili's Slumber Party. I used my Cricut to cut out the window, tree, moon, and santa w/reindeer.

Inky Impressions - Challenge #26

Today at the Inky Impressions Challenge blog, the challenge is to add embossing (dry or heat) and glitter or flocking to your project. So today, I have a gift bag to show you that I made for my daughter to give her teacher. Here it is:



The stamp I used is Angelica's Bunny Hugs from Inky Impressions. This stocking bag is a free template that you can download and print out from Papertrey Ink. I did increase the size just a bit when I printed it out.

Angelica and the Christmas tree were colored with copics and decorated with brads, beads, and charms. Using the Cuttlebug and swirls embossing folder, I embossed the toe and heel of the stocking and I also embossed the backside of the stocking. I sanded over the embossed swirls so that the swirls would show up better.

Can you see the flocking on the bunny? I used white and brown crushed velvet flock from Doodlebugs to get a lighter brown color and applied it to the bunny - I like how it turned out. I used my scalloped oval nestabilities for the tag and a Merry Christmas rub on. The charm, ribbon, and poinsettia stickers were found at Michaels. I also added red stickles to the edges of the stocking to give it a more finished look. I found the feather boa at Joanne Fabrics. My papers are from K & Co.

My daughter, Christina, filled the bag with chocolates and a gift card for her wonderful teacher, Mrs. Craig. Hope she likes it.

All That Scraps Challenge - Sparkly

The challenge this week over at All That Scraps is to have sparkle and glitter on your project. So, today I made a diorama card - the instructions can be found here at Splitcoast Stampers. I altered it a bit and changed the size and shape.

Here is my card:



I colored the church pink to draw your eye into the card and to match the image, which I colored first. The poinsettias were red but I wanted it to match my image also so I glittered it up with pink MS glitter. I like how it turned out! I also used white scribbles 3D paint for the trees and ground around the church then I put glitter over it for extra sparkle.

The stamps I used today are: Angelica's Lantern from Inky Impressions, the church is from Alota Rubberstamps, and the trees are from Magnolia.

December Magnolia-licious Highlites Challenge

Today I wanted to play along with the Magnolia-licious Highlites challenge. The challenge for December is to make a shape card that is not a rectangle or square. So I made more snowglobe cards - 2 for this challenge.

My first card also qualifies for the music theme at the Saturday Spotlight Challenge so I am entering it there too! Here is my Caroler Tilda:

I cut the lamp post with my Cricut and used the pine trees and cat from Magnolia.

This is my 2nd card, Angel Tilda:

I put a cotton ball on the bottom of the Angel to make it look like she was standing on a cloud.

I used my Cricut to cut out the circle shapes of the globe and the sentiment inside the cards. These stamps are from this year's Magnolia Christmas collection and they are so much fun to work with and so versatile. Hope you like what you see...? Thanks for visiting!

Inky Impression Challenge

The challenge this week at the Inky Impressions challenge blog is to use snowflakes on your project. The other day, I was watching the Martha Stewart show and she had pop-up book author David Carter on the show. They showed how to make a pop-up book with a Christmas tree. I dropped everything and had to give this one a try. You can find the template and directions for the tree here and this is the card I made:

This is a side view of my pop-up tree. Can you see the light coming from the tree? I put a battery operated tea light at the base where there is a hole and the tea light fit perfectly.



This is a picture of the front of my card. I cut the tree with my cricut also, same cartridge. A bit simple, but I spent all my time on the inside of the card.

Inky Impressions DT - Woohoo!!

I am so excited to have been picked to be on the Inky Impressions design team. If you could see the manic look of glee on my face, I'd probably scare you lol! But I do love these cute little Inky images and am honored to be on the team.

So today I wanted to try to make one of those snowglobes that I've seen all over the blogs. The tutorial can be found here at Splitcoaststampers.

I used the Angelica's Lantern image from Inky Impressions and colored her with copics and used these fabulous SEI papers that I found at my local Michael's store.

If you look closely you'll see a mishap where I dropped my red marker and smudged a little red on Angelica's coat.. oops... tried covering it up with a bit of stickles. I still like how it turned out. Do you? Thanks for looking! :o)

Ouch! Tilda

Thanks so much to those of you who take the time to visit my blog and for the birthday wishes on my last post. Your kindness means so much to me!

Well today I have a wintery card to show you using 2 different images. I'm happy to say I haven't had to break out the shovel yet here where I live but maybe this weekend this will be me with the sore bottom :o). I used a stamp from the Halloween Magnolia's and a digital image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I altered the Halloween image a bit - isn't she the cutest? Would love to know what you think...? I'm going to enter this in the Just Magnolia challenge. I used copics to color my images, snowflakes are made with my MS punch and some cut out with my Cricut, and some snowflake brads from my stash. Wish I could tell you where my paper is from but my craft room is such a mess and all my papers are mixed together (I think it's from the Debbie Mumm collection).

My Magnolia Church

What a wonderful Monday I've had today! My girls woke me up with birthday hugs and kisses and lots of handmade cards and handmade stories and pictures for me. Nothing beats a handmade present from the heart! Who needs diamonds!? Not me! :o) We celebrated at my favorite "fast food" place Panera Bread for dinner, YUM-O! Thank you to my hubby and daughters for making my day special.

Well, today I wanted to share with you my Magnolia church that I made. I used my Cricut and Winter Wonderland cartridge again for this project. I used 2 Magnolia images for either side of my church and they can both be found here at my favorite Magnolia store. I have lots of pictures to show you.

I used K & Co. and SU papers, prima flowers, stickles, pearls, ranger inks, and copics to color my images. I'm not sure if I will make this a table top decoration or another ornament for my tree. Another Inky Impressions ornament

I've made another ornament using my Cricut machine with the Winter Woodland cartridge and another Inky Impressions stamp. Thanks to everyone who visited my blog and commented on my last ornament. Your kind comments made my day even brighter!! :o)

So here's a picture of my gingerbread house or candy house and my little Elf Angelica from Inky Impressions.

I outlined the windows, the roof, and some of the stickers with my scribbles dimensional paint then sprinkled on some Martha Stewart glitter. The roof trim and rickrack came from my stash.

Here is a closeup of cutie Angelica Elf. I added the Christmas hat.


I colored my image with Copic markers, papers are from Debbie Mumm, and I used some stickles all over my project.

Inky Impressions Ornament Challenge

Hi there. Thanks for visiting my blog today. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your visit and comments. Today I am sharing an ornament that I made for the Inky Impressions challenge blog. I don't have any of the Christmas stamps yet so I took one of the stamps I did have and altered it to a Christmas image. I apologize for the poor pictures, I just don't seem to have a knack for taking a good picture as compared to many other blogs out there - hope you are able to see it ok. If anyone has any tips at all to share with me on how to take a decent picture of my projects for my blog, please let me know! My email is angelwoodcrafts@gmail.com.


I took this photo outside hoping the lighting would be better. I'm glad the weather cooperated today, yesterday was so cold with torential downpours, today it's very mild out. I added a Christmas hat and a gift (originally she was carrying a birthday cake).

Here is a close-up of the charms at the bottom of my ornament.


And here's a closeup of the wooden snowflake that I colored pink with my copics and then covered with Diamond colored stickles and embellished with pearls. I wish you could see the sparkle on the snowflake. :o(



I cut out all the holly leaves with my new Martha Stewart paper punch and added pink jewels for the berries. I colored my Inky Impressions image with copics and used lots of stickles all over my project.
