*** Click here for my BLOG CANDY ***

It's time for another photo inspiration challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog, here is our photo brought to you by our talented teammate, Cabio:

So cozy, isn't it?  Here is what I came up with:

Luckily I had this couch stamp which is what I took from the inspiration photo. I used the following images (both I got from Magnolia-licious):

Couch - link is for the mini couch as it looks like the regular size is out of stock right now.

I used a Magnolia Doohickey (Old Swedish Lace) for my border around the card.  I used a Spellbinder die for the shape of my card and I used some yummy Basic Grey dp. My flowers and heart pearls are from Wild Orchid.  My "love" sentiment is a chipboard piece from Make It Crafty that I colored red with Smooch paints.

I used the following copics to color my image:

E11, E000, E00, R20, R29, R27, R24, R22, W3, W1, W00, YG67, YG63, G21, G20, YR24, YR23, Y21, Y00, E37, E35

I will enter this card at the following challenges:

Crafty Pad - something girly
Let's Ink it Up - anything goes (no digis)
Basic Grey Challenges - BG papers & flowers

Also, at C4C our sponsor this week is Flowersoft! They sent us some beautiful new Flowersoft colours that I used on my image. If you play along at C4C, you could win a set of the new colours and flowersoft glue.

I have received this award from my friends RubyTracy, and Cabio. Thank you so much girls! So I have to share with you 8 things about myself.  Yikes, I am so boring and I hate talking about myself but here goes:

1. My parents were born in Italy, so I am an Italian-American (please don't compare me to the folks on the "Jersey Shore show" though - eek!)

2. I would love to travel more (I have been to Germany, Austria, Leitchenstein, and Italy a couple times) but I hate to fly. It is my dream to visit Hawaii, Australia, and Great Britain (I have cousins living in England) but I fear I may need to be sedated for those trips... ;)

3. I sleep about 4 hours a night but wish for 8...

4. I used to be terrified of dogs but to make my kids happy we adopted a sweet puppy that I just love to pieces.

5. I have this desire to be artistic in any way possible so have dabbled in many different craft areas like cross stitching, needlepoint, knitting, polymer clay, painting ceramics, tole painting etc. until finally getting stuck on coloring with copics and making cards.

6.  Hmm.. my real name is Angelina but I use my nickname Angela. I do not have a middle name.

7.  I am a coffee-holic. Love it!!

8.  I grew up in the 70's and 80's but totally LOVE modern music and sing along with my kids (to their embarassment). My little one always says to me, "please Mom, stop singing." :(  teehee

Well, that was painful.. lol...  I'd like to share this award with all my friends who stop by to visit me here at my blog. I appreciate the time you take to stop by and leave me a comment!  xoxo

I have also received this award from my friend Regina.  Thank you so much! I am supposed to pick out 3 things that make me different from everyone else which I think can already be answered by reading my list of 8 above.

Whew! What a long post! Well, thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

Make It Colourful Challenge #1 - Use Warm or Cold colors

YAY! It's the weekend! This was a tough week getting back into the routine of getting up early, working, and the kids going  back to school.  Now starts the countdown to summer!!! Here is a card I made for the Make It Colourful Challenge which really has me longing for summer:

The challenge this week is to use warm or cold colors on our project. I chose the warm colors (red, brown, orange, yellow, yellowish green). My background images are digital images from Make It Crafty. I used  MIC's Garden Picket Fence and MIC's Peaches of Plenty digi stamps. Zoe (MIC owner) has a wonderful video on how to manipulate your digi images using MSWord HERE which is very helpful. Check it out!

I used Peachy Tilda that I got from Magnolia-licious. Doesn't she work well with the peach branch MICrafty image?  MICrafty also sells the those wonderful ornate chipboard corners that I colored brown with my copics and added an orange gem to. Unfortunately my photo of this card appears much lighter. In  person the colors are much warmer and brighter.

I will enter this card at the following challenges:

Just Magnolia - anything goes
Fab n Funky Challenge - anything goes
Cardmakin Mamas - girlie
Papertake Weekly - anything goes

I hope you like my card and can leave me a comment. I love to read them! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a great weekend!

YNS New Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Your Next Stamp January New Release BLOG HOP!  We've got some fabulous new YNS stamps to showcase today! These new stamps are available to buy right now from the Your Next Stamp store along with all your YNS favourites. I am finishing up my guest designer position with this fun hop.  Also  Jen Del Muro will be joining us as a guest for YNS. Can't wait to see what she created!

If you would like to participate in the hop and you didn't arrive here from Simonne's awesome blog, please CLICK HERE to return to the start of the hop at Wendy's blog, as you don't want to miss these fab new releases! The hop starts today January 7, 2011 at 03:00 EST and ends on January 10, 2011 at midnight EST.

As always here at Your Next Stamp, we have a wonderful prize for you to win! One lucky winner will be drawn at random from the links in the linky list to receive a new release stamp package!

You will see that every stop along the hop has a linky list - this is the SAME linky list posted on every blog, so that you can enter the prize draw from any stop (although we hope you will visit all the blogs on today's hop!). The linky will update itself on everyone's blog when a link is entered - how cool is that? Please remember to only enter your name ONCE into the linky list during the hop - you do NOT need to enter your name at every stop and multiple entries will be removed. It's not a requirement for you to comment at every stop along the hop to be eligible to be entered into the prize draw, but the DT would sure love to hear what you think of their new release creations!

Karen is also running some special promotions, so be sure to hop on over to the YNS store once you've finished the hop. There is a fab clearance section, where you can grab a bargain or two, and Karen has also put together some special-priced bundles!!

So onto my blog hop creation! I have used Musical Ethan.  Here is a photo:

I altered this gift box to match my card and filled it with chocolates, hence the sentiment.  Isn't it cute!!? Thanks, Crystal! ;)  I got my music note brads from Michaels and my little silver charms are from an old bracelet that my daughter doesn't wear anymore so she took the charms off for me to use for my cards. Aren't they great!?  Here are a few closeup photos:

Here is a complete blog hop list in hopping order:

So now it's time for you to hop on over to my friend Karen's blog as she is the next stop on our hop, but I'd love it if you left me a comment before you go!

Thanks so much for hopping with us today! I hope you enjoy our new release!

Hugs,

Happy New Year and some news

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a lovely holiday and may this new year bring you much joy!!

It was really nice to have the kids home from school this past 1 1/2 weeks. We got to spend alot of time together just hanging out without any responsibilities or activities to run too.  Tomorrow it's back to school and midterms... eeek!

Today I wanted to share a Happy New Year card that I made:

I used Tilda and Edwin Dancing that I picked up from Magnolia-licious. The champagne bottle and glass also came from Magnolia-licious.  The double heart and heart flourish on my card are chipboard pieces that I got from Make-it-Crafty and I colored it with a silver marker. I really love this set of chipboard pieces, there are many other sweet designs with this set.  I cut out my letters and numbers with my Cricut Expression - hmm... now that I look at it, the letters weren't placed very evenly :(...   I did have trouble placing these tiny letters down with glue... I hope you still like it?

Here are a few closer views of my card:

Well I wanted to share with you some unbelievable news that I received just before Christmas.

I have been asked to join the Magnolia Sweden Design Team.  I can't tell you how shocked, suprised, and thrilled I was to receive such an amazing early Christmas present. I'm so honored to get to work with this amazing group of talented ladies.  I had to create a Magnolia only blog.  Here is the link: http://mymagnoliasbyangela.blogspot.com/.  It would mean so much to me if you could take a moment and follow me there if you would like.

Well, thanks for visiting me today and for any comments your might leave me.  Take care!! xoxo

hugs,
