Whimsy - Touched by Love

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!  Woot! Woot! the big day is almost here!  Christmas came way to fast for me!! I need another week. ;)

Well, isn't this just the loveliest image!? This digital image is from Whimsy designs and is created by Chrissy Armstrong and is called Touched by Love.  This image comes already colored (which I used in a previous post) or non - colored.  Today I chose to color this image with my copics and used prisma pencils for a little extra shading.  What do you think?  I'm still getting the hang of using the pencils and still need more practice I think. These papers can also be found at Whimsy and are absolutely gorgeous!

Here is a close up of this angel and baby Jesus:

This will be my last post with Whimsy although I do plan to continue working with their beautiful images when time permits.  This was a wonderful group to work  with and I will miss designing with them. Thank you Denise for the opportunity!

This is probably my last Christmas card of the year. I'm not sure if I will get a chance to post again before the new year but I'll take this opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you so much for coming to visit me!  Big hugs to you, xoxo!

Your Next Stamp - Ellie Loves to Skate

I have another YNS card to show you today! I love this little skater girl, isn't she sweet? This stamp is called Ellie Loves to Skate.   I paired her up with this  ice skating pond image that I had in my stash which I think fits her nicely.

Here is a closer image of this cutie patootie:

My images are colored with copics and I added white flock to her hat/coat trim and muff. Also added some MS white glitter to give the snow some sparkle although I don't think you can see that too well in this photo :(
Also added some snowflake trim to the edges of my card. I hope you like it!!!?

Just a quick post for you today! Yikes Christmas is around the corner!! So much to do! Be back again soon.

Make It Crafty Blog Hop

Brrr... are you as chilly as I am this week?  It has been so cold here in CT but still not much snow around these parts. We are hoping for a white Christmas this year! From the weather report, chances are good! My kids love the snow and everything about it. From making snowmen, to snowball fights, and sled riding at the park (and I love watching them from the warmth of my car with a big thermos of hot chocolate)... ;) hehehe

Well, today I am excited to tell you that  Zoe (from Make It Crafty)  invited me to come HOPPING with her latest images released today!  If you keep on hopping though you will see my other exciting news! I am the 2nd stop on the hop after Zoe's amazing blog. She has released some beautiful Spring and Love themed scenery images that will work perfectly in combination with all your favorite characters.  She sent me this beautiful digi image to work with today called  Ivy Swing and it fit my Magnolia image perfectly.  Here is my card:

What do you think of this peaceful scene?  I used Jam Tilda from Magnolia and I also colored up one of Tilda's Birds which I thought worked well with this Ivy Swing image from Make it Crafty. My papers are by Webster's Pages, flowers  from Prima and Wild Orchid,  Magnolia Doohickeys, and flower brads from SU. I colored my image with copics and for extra shading and highlighting, I used my primsa colored pencils.

Here's a closer view of the image:

I hope you like my card today and can leave a comment.  Please continue on the hop for your chance at winning some fabulous prizes from Make It Crafty. You need to make sure you comment at each stop as there are over $200 worth of prizes hidden at many of the hop stops to be won.  Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Annika

YNS Challenge #32 - Let's Party

We have a fun challenge for you today over at Your Next Stamp this week, our challenge is to create a "party" related card or project. So here is what I came up with:

I made a cookie party invitation card. I used this sweet Ellie Loves to Bake image (one of my favorites) and Fhiona's Gingerbread House. That gingerbread house was so much fun to color. I used copics to color my image and embellished with twine and buttons. I hope you like my card today!?

Don't forget about YNS' huge Holiday sale going on right now! Sale ends tonight at midnight! I hope you can plan along with us this week at the YNS Challenge blog. See you there! Have a great day!

Magnolia-licious Challenge #4 - Photo Inspiration - White Christmas

We have a photo inspiration for you today at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog. Here is the photo:

I love this snowy white holiday scene with the bright lights emanating from the windows! So our challenge is a "white christmas."   Here is what I came up with:

My friend Crystal gave me the idea of making a lantern small enough to hang on a Christmas tree and after seeing all the beautiful lanterns that Norma (one of my favorite designers) made, I had to give it a try but had to make something smaller scaled. So I pulled out my spellbinder dies and got busy.  My light element is a battery operated tea light.  You can't see the light too well in this photo but the others show the light much  better.

My image is Tilda in Winter Light which doesn't seem to be in stock at the Magnolia-licious store right now but will soon be.  Here is a link to the mini image of Tilda in Winter Light - oh so sweeet! I also used a Magnolia Doohickey die for the swirls on the sides and back of my lantern - I LOVE MY DOOHICKEYS!!  ;)

I will enter this project at the following challenges:

Delightful Challenges - embossing
Dutch Dare Card Challenge - ornament
Stampin With the Dragon - sparkle
Totally Gorjuss Challenge - snow
Allsorts Challenge - last minute Christmas project
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - winter wishes
Wags n Whiskers - snowflakes
Stamp with Fun - christmas
Pink Elephant - winter wonderland

Well, thanks so much for visiting me today. I hope you can play along with us at the Magnolia-licious Challenge blog! I'll look for you there! big hugs!!

Altered ornament - Magnolia's Santa

Happy Sunday folks! Today I made a project just for fun! I found this rustic old sled ornament from my local Joanne Fabrics and thought a Magnolia Santa would perfectly embellish this sled.  What do you think?

Looks like this guy is sold out at Magnolia-licious. But HERE is a link to many other Santa's in stock. I'm sure this one will be available soon.

I added a few extra embellishments to the sled (ie., snowflakes, candycane, bow, and image). This will look awesome on my tree this year! Well, thanks for stopping by today! See ya next time!

By the way, I will enter this project at the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge blog - last minute christmas projects
Fussy and Fancy - anything but a card
Winter Wonderland - christmas bauble

Whimsy's Teddy's First Christmas

I'm back again with a colored Teddy's First Christmas image unlike my prior post where I used the adorable pre-colored image.  I got out my copics for this one,  I thought he'd look sweet as a white polar bear so I colored him using the C00s -greys. My wonderful sentiment is by Raindrop Echo Designs and can also be found in digital form from Whimsy.

Here's a closeup:
I used white flock on the bears hat and birds hat. I really love the blue and red color combination. So wintery and something just a little different for the holidays.  I used the Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch for my card today.  My papers are by SEI and I also used the Spellbinder snowflake die.

I hope you like my card today! Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

December Whimsy Digi Blog Hop

** For my Birthday Blog Candy Winner, please scroll down to my YNS post **

It's time for the Whimsy Digi Blog Hop!  We have some super sweet images to show you so I hope you will take time to visit everyone on the hop as there will be an awesome prize for you lucky commentors!!

Because I had to travel last week for the Thanksgiving holiday, I was so pinched for time in meeting this deadline so what I did was use the new pre-colored digi images that Whimsy is now offering. What a life saver they were.  All I did was print them out on my favorite paper and cut them out with dies and made these fun treat bags and lollipop and candy cane treats.  I thought they would be fun for my kids to bring to school to give to their friends.  Just print about 20 of these pics out and there you go, nice and quick!

Aren't they cute? These lovely images were designed by Chrissy Armstrong. You can get the images already colored or the more traditional non-colored versions.  When I have a moment, I hope to color some up myself since I just love coloring with my copics.

I also made a card with this sweet angel and baby Jesus image. What a precious image!

I used a snowflake die that my good friend Chris sent to me for my birthday (thanks hunny)!! And I used the angel wings Magnolia die (so pretty).

Here is the DT hop lineup in case you get lost on the way):

YNS - December GDT and WINNER of my Birthday Blog Candy

Hi there friends! This month, I'm thrilled to join Your Next Stamp as a GDT. I love these sweet versatile images from YNS.  Here is my project that I'd like to share with you today:

I love recycling old cartons or containers and I used my favorite cheese container and covered it with some fun papers and this sweet image called Tobogganing Ellie.  Here is a before picture of the cheese container before I decorated it. What's fun about this ornament is that the lid pops off and you can stash a gift card or money inside and hang it on the tree.  ;)

Here is a closeup of cute little Ellie!

And now for the winner of my Birthday Blog Candy. Thank  you all so much for the amazing turnout. I never thought so many people would try for my candy!  I wish I had something to give to each one of you. Well, without further ado my winner is:

Saskia
Congratulations!! Please contact me with your address as soon as you can.  Please stay tuned everyone,  I do plan to have another candy draw in the New Year.  Be on the lookout!

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thanks for dropping by and I hope you will leave a comment! Enjoy your day!
