Magnolia-licious - Think Pink Treats

Happy Monday everyone and Happy Columbus Day!  My kids have today off from school and we are enjoying a nice lazy day after a month load of homework and tests galore.  Well today at Magnolia-licious Highlites, we are having a blog hop and our theme is "Think Pink Treats" in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Here is a bit about our theme:

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) is an annual international health campaign organized by major companies every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. The Pink Ribbon symbol was used in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder as the symbol of The Breast Cancer Research Fund she founded and is used to symbolize the fight against the disease. We also honor those that have fought the battle and who are currently fighting the battle while raising awareness to ALL women to be aware of the symptoms and to be proactive against the disease. Want to find out more? The National Breast Cancer Foundation HERE for those in the US and globally at the PinkRibbon.org site HERE!

  • In 2011 Nearly 1.5 million women across the world were told they had breast cancer
  • One-third of breast cancer deaths can be decreased with early detection and treatment
  • In the US 1 out of 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over their lifetime, an estimated 527 women are diagnosed in the US with breast cancer each day
The Magnolia-licious DT wants to help promote awareness/early detection and share what this Think Pink Month is about with ALL women! We also want to honor all of those women that have or are currently fighting this disease and show our support in the fight!! To show our support the DT has planned our own “Think Pink” Celebration and we hope you can all join in. Each DT gal has created some Sweet treats and PINK Packaging to match using those beautiful Magnolia images. You can find some Magnolia stamps that were created specifically for Pink Ribbon Awareness at Magnolia-licious  HERE. So have fun hopping along to see all the fabulous Pink-a-licious Creations and make sure to stop back by the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog to join in on the fun too!

Here is my project for today:

I found this fun Ribbon box template at My Time Made Easy and knew I wanted to make this for today's hop.  I also made the matching little scalloped card.  The background writing paper is a digital image also from My Time Made Easy.  Magnolia images used today are: Tilda With Many Hearts mini image and Tilda With Christmas Baking.

I filled my box with my favorite Hershey kiss peanut butter cookies.  You can find tons of this cookie recipe on Pinterest.

Well that's it from me today.  Whew this was a long post!  Next on the hop is my very talented friend Cabio.  The girls have really outdone themselves today, I hope you can visit all of them!

Little Darlings - Saturated Canary Windy Day

Hi Everyone! This is Angela and we have a new monthly inspiration for you today.  This month our theme is Die/Dye It. So I chose to use Dies on my project today. I made a wall hanging for my daughter to hang in her bedroom using my favorite Saturated Canary image from Little Darlings.  This is Windy Day:

I used a spellbinder grand oval die for this project and also 2 papertrey ink cloud dies.  My background image is from Make It Crafty - Rainbow background digi image that I thought worked perfectly with this image.

Here is a bit of a  closer look:

I added lace and beads around my scene.  I think it will look pretty hanging in my daughter's room which is outdoor themed.  I hope she likes it!

I will enter this at the following challenges:

Fab 'n' Funky Challenge - no patterned paper
Ink it Pink - anything goes
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge blog - diecuts and/or punches
Stampotique Designers Challenge - weather

Well thanks for visiting me today. Have a great day!

Magnolia-licious DT Blog Hop

Hi Everyone!  The Magnolia-licious team is having a blog hop today.  We were to create something using a holiday image and then re-invent it for another occasion.   If you've come from Cabio's blog then your in the right place. I am last on the hop.

 So here is my project:

I made 2 gift bags using the same image.  I couldn't wait to use this Cozy Christmas Bear from the new Little Christmas collection recently released.  On my first gift bag, I made a Christmas gift bag - obviously this image is intended to be a Christmas image.  Then I changed the colors a bit, cut off the dangly part of the scarf and turned it into an image you can use for a new baby gift.

Here is a closeup of the Christmas bag:

I used Spellbinder snowflakes, oval and scallop oval dies, Magnolia doohickey poinsettia die and So Wrapped Lovely Heart tag die, and Memory box pine leaves die. Some stickers, buttons, and twine finished off this bag.

For my baby gift bag, I colored my bear mostly the same way but for the hat and scarf which I colored pink.  Also added a pink bow to the bear's scarf.  I also colored the Magnolia Sweet Moon from the Sweet Crazy Love Collection.  Die cuts used here are from Spellbinder and MFT.

I used several copics on my images today. Let's see if I can remember them all:  E35, E33, E31, E30, R24, R22, R20, W3, W1, W00, R85, R83, R81, RV00, E53, E51, E50, YR23, YR21, Y000. Also used some star dust stickles and ranger walnut stain ink.

Well that's it from me today! Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my blog today. Have a great day! hugs xo

Snowflakes and Roses

Hi Everyone! I'd like to share this card I made with you using these gorgeous new Christmas release Magnolias.  This is Little Tilda from the 2012 Little Christmas Collection.  They are currently available for preorder at Magnolia-licious.  Have you seen this collection? The bears are so CUTE and I will be coloring those up soon.  But first, this cutie:

Here is a closeup:

I've used copics to color my image. My flowers are from WOC and I used some snowflake buttons that I picked up at Joanne Fabrics.  I've embellished the snowflakes and flowers with Diamond Stickles.  Papers are by Magnolia and I've also used the Spellbinder Floral Ovals.

Well, that's it from me today.  Have a great day!!

Magnolia-licious Highlights Challenge

It's "Anything But a Card" challenge this month at the Magnolia-licious Highlights blog. Today I'd like to show you a little sewing box I had fun making.  I'm not much of a sewer unfortunately but I often sew buttons on my my husband's shirts and mend tears in my little ones clothes. This box will be a cute way to store a few buttons, threads, and needles.

I used a template from My Time Made Easy for this sewing box.  Make It Crafty had the perfect chipboard embellishments for this project. I also used some lace trim and floral brads from Stampin Up.

Here is a view of my sewing box lid. I used this sweet Tailor Tilda  (link to mini image). My image is colored with copics and I've embellished with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.

There's plenty of room inside the box for my needles, scissors, and a few spools of thread and extra buttons. So cute!  I hope you like my project today, I had fun making this.  Thanks for visiting today, see you soon!
