Happy Spring Lili Stair Step Card - Think Green

Today is Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge over at the Inky Impressions Challenge blog. The theme for the next 2 weeks is to include green on your card. So I made a stair step card. I really love the dimension that you get on this type of card. Instructions for this card fold can be found here.

Here is my card:



My image is from Inky Impressions and is called Happy Spring Lili. Don't you just love her big blue eyes and sweet face? I colored her with my copics and used DCWV papers, prima flowers, and the ribbon and tulip buttons are from my stash (from Michaels).

Paper Romance DT

Hello there! I'm so excited to share with you that I've been asked to join the Paper Romance design team. Paper Romance is a new online store owned by the talented Amy Leggate. A Grooovy Lili

When I first saw Flower Lili I wanted to make a card reminiscent of the 70s era. She looks like such a funky - free spirit to me. So I went in search of a Volkswagon beetle car stamp to use with her. Since I couldn't find a stamp, I searched for a free coloring page of the car on the internet and came across this car and printed it onto cardstock. I colored my images with copic markers and used a combination of DCWV papers and SU papers. I embellished it with flower charms/spacers. So, do you think she has a 70s vibe going? Would love to read your comments.

My First Critter Sketch Challenge Post

Good Monday morning to you! Today is my first post for the new DT I'm on called the Critter Sketch Challenge blog. I'm so excited to be part of this team - hope you will visit us there and play along!

The challenge this week is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch:



The sketch also indicates to use 2 eyelets or brads somewhere on the card or scrapbook page. For my card, I turned the sketch around and also added stitching around the papers.

This week, our sponsor is Stamp and Create. Normally, we will only have 1 give away a month which will be given at the end of the month. However, this week we thought it would be fun to SURPRISE you and give one away at the end of this week. Stamp and Create has chosen to sponsor our blog for one week and is offering one lucky winner a $15 gift certificate to their store. So today, I chose to use an image from theWags 'n Whiskers line. This stamp was created by the very talented Crissy Armstrong and is called A Good Book. Don't you just love her? Can't wait till the weather warms up enough so I can sit under a tree with a good book. This fabulous tree is from the Magnolia-licious store and is probably my most favorite accessory stamp as I use it all the time.

Inky Impressions - Birthday Cupcake Giftcard holder

It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another Inky Impressions challenge. The challenge this week is to use pastels or bright colors on your card - "think Spring." Spring always reminds me of my daughter's birthday. She was born in April and now that she's getting older, she prefers giftcards instead of actual gifts (even though I do still buy gifts). So this week I made a cupcake giftcard holder. I first saw this over at Rach's blog and she linked to the Stamp Goddess' tutorial for the instructions.



I used my favorite Angelica stamp, Angelica's Daydream, to decorate the cupcake. She's so versatile - I can think of a million ways to use this stamp. I glued a heart backdrop to her and included the birthday sentiment and wrote "pull me." When you pull the heart, the gift card is revealed. Cute idea, isn't it? Check out the tutorial linked above - she makes it look so easy. I then attached a toothpick to the back of the heart and stuck it in the cupcake with a bit of glue.

Here is a picture of the copics I used:



I used ribbon for the "whipped cream" and prima flowers for decorating the cupcake. With spellbinder dies, I also cut flowers out of hand made pink paper that has flecks of dried flowers in it by Anna Griffin. I painted a wooden bead and glittered it up with Martha Stewart glitter.

Pretty in Pink Lili

Woohoo! We are having us a NOR'EASTER. I know most of you are probably sick of winter but we here haven't seen a storm like this in a while. Schools are closed, kids are home, and my husband stayed home from work too. We have the fireplace going - nice and cozy. Hmm.. if only I could get the pizza man to deliver :0) -- actually, I got some chicken soup on the stove and my daughter made brownies. Here are some pics of my backyard from earlier today if you want to see:





Well, onto my project. Today, I made a card using Flower Lili .

Critter Sketch Challenge DT

Hello my friends, I don't have anything to show you today but I wanted to let you know that I am now on the design team for a new challenge blog called the Critter Sketch Challenge blog. Inky Impressions Challenge - A Charming Inky

The challenge today over at the Inky Impressions challenge blog is to add a charm (or charms) to your card/project - here is my card:



To cut the heart shape, I used the Cricut - Wild Card cartridge. Then ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Swirls embossing folder. I then sanded over the top of the swirls so they would show up better. The image I used is called Lili's Secret and can be found over at the Inky Impressions store. Isn't she the cutest?! The sentiment I used is computer generated.



I have been getting alot of comments about posting the colors I use for my images so here is a picture of the copics I used today.
